NOTE - This page is a work in progress for 2022! Forgive the typo's and plagiarism. So far it's a template for an idea we're working on.
The Rock Island Ale Trail runs from downtown Peoria all the way to Toulon, however this
particular section of the trail will include 16 bars where you can stop along the way
and partake in a beverage! Eventually it would be cool to see this not only run all the way to Toulon, but also pick up on the east side of the river and connect with the River Trail in East Peoria, and, who knows, maybe even the Constitution trail in Bloomington.
Please reach us at mark@mongehometeam.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Absolutely nothing! Just grab a bike and some friends and head out for a ride and a good time!
Currently, it's a list of participating bars along the trail. Scroll down to the bottom and print off the PDF of the bars and locations!
In the works.....but a few ideas range from:
1) Having a passport that gets stamped at each location and upon completion, there could be some kind of award like a special pint glass or other merch.
2) Having a passport for purchase that would entitle the holder to a drink special or discount at each location.
3) Bragging rights.

Ride
This is a trial run of the Rock Island Ale Trail! Your feedback matters. There are other great ale trails nearby to explore, such as the Quad Cities Ale Trail, which was kind of the inspiration for this site. Be sure to check that one out when you are in the area. The Peoria area Rock Island Trail not only holds a ton of history, but it's also a great connecting trail to some of the area's finest bars and breweries!
Be Smart
Be responsible. This trail is used by lots of families and kids and the last thing we want to do is have it be a DUI bike lane. Ride and drink responsibly. This isn't intended to be completed in one day or one ride, but rather sampled from enjoyed over time.
Under 21 need not apply
This may blow your mind, but you need to be 21 or older to drink in Illinois.
Call Ahead
If we do end up making an official paper passport, which is the goal, it will have the locations, phone numbers and details of each bar or brewery. Hours may vary as well as opening days and times, so be sure to call ahead to make sure they are open if you have a goal in mind for the day.
Your feedback
Like I said, this is a trial run (ride) and I'd love to hear your feedback and comments on what you liked and what could be improved upon. This isn't a money making venture (although it would be great to have it be a fund raiser for different local charities at some point), so let's ride, have fun and take it from an idea to reality. Email mark@mongehometeam.com with your feedback! Cheers!
